2019 XC conditioning has begun! We will host a meet and greet for rising 9th and all new runners on June 12 @ 7AM! All athletes will meet at the track area. Summer training packets will be distributed on this day! Please attend!
Athlete planning to join the team are expected to follow the conditioning program in order to be ready for the season.
Coaches want all athletes to be part of the team. However, you have to do your part and be in XC shape by August 5th!
Coaches will not allow athletes to be part of the team if they are at risk of injury due to lack of conditioning.
The summer months are crucial to the success of the team!
Summer conditioning is daily. Peer leadership will be a big part of summer conditioning. Summer Captains will be in charge of group meet ups. Coaches will be present when at all possible.
The summer training packets will include what you will do each and every day. You will also be responsible for filling out your training log and bringing it Day 1 of Tryouts.
It is not mandatory that you attend but you are responsible for the training in the packet. It is HIGHLY encouraged to train with the team. Times and locations will vary!
Your success for team selection will be largely based off of your summer conditioning. Please take this seriously! We do not want to see unprepared athletes that will end up with injuries due to lack of conditioning!
All rising 9th graders need to attend! Meet new people and get to know your new campus before it school starts!

VHSL Physical dated after May 1st 2019.
Concussion training. All rising 9th and anyone who has not previously completed this must attend a face to face session. All returners may take the online course which will be available after July 1st, 2019.

Aug 5th, 2019: Day 1 of the season. All paperwork is due on Day 1. Be prepared to run.
Aug 6--Aug 9th: Team assessments will be made. Conditioning level will be tested by a series of time trails. Core and strength will also be tested.
THE SEASON BEGINS ON AUGUST 5TH. FROM THIS DAY FORWARD ALL ATHLETES ARE REQUIRED TO BE AT PRACTICE DAILY. SUMMER TRAINING IS OVER AND WE ARE NOW IN-SEASON SO PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.
Team selection will be based off of conditioning level. Grade and experience will be factored into the selection process!
